Short answer
AerKYC is the name Aeredium uses for its privacy-preserving identity and company verification engine. The product is aimed at regulated businesses that need a defensible KYC or KYB result but do not want to keep a central store of passports, addresses, company records, and other sensitive attributes.
The official page describes a reference-based outcome: a verdict, risk information, reason codes, an evidence hash, and a cryptographic signature. Aeredium says the underlying identity attributes are erased when the check completes. For Web3 use cases, it also describes a private attestation that lets a smart contract confirm a wallet's verification status without receiving the person's identity.
The product page and linked access routes are public. The July 23 AMA adds wallet/web KYC, green-result attestation, Indonesia support, and expanding KYB coverage. The newer AERSeal workflow now explicitly binds AERKYC verification to a custody account and requires verification for signatories. None of this independently establishes accuracy, deletion implementation, regulatory approval, production scale, or customer adoption.

What AerKYC says it can check
The product spans both KYC, which verifies an individual, and KYB, which checks a legal entity and the people behind it. The official page presents the following data and risk sources:
- People: government identity databases, sanctions and PEP screening, consent records, and wallet-risk signals.
- Companies: legal-entity records, official registries, the global LEI network, Dun & Bradstreet, sanctions screening, and director cross-referencing.
- Existing verification signals: the self-onboarding copy says a user may be able to reuse signals from named exchanges, PayPal, or a direct form flow.
- Web3 access: a wallet can receive a privacy-preserving verification attestation for smart-contract gating.
Provider names and coverage should not be read as proof that every source is available for every country, subject, or verification tier. The page does not publish a jurisdiction-by-jurisdiction coverage matrix or accuracy statistics.
The zero-retention claim is the core differentiator
Traditional KYC systems can become high-value breach targets because they accumulate passports, addresses, company documents, biometric material, and screening records. AerKYC's central promise is to separate the verification event from long-term storage: use attributes to reach a decision, sign the outcome, then remove the attributes.
The official page uses unusually absolute language, including zero identity records stored and nothing to steal. Those statements require more than a public interface to validate. A strong independent review would need the data-flow specification, subprocessors, logging rules, backup behavior, deletion guarantees, exception paths, incident handling, and a security or privacy audit.

Private attestations for permissioned on-chain access
A reusable verification attestation could let an exchange, RWA platform, permissioned DeFi pool, or tokenized-asset contract ask a narrow question: is this wallet verified at the required tier and is that verification still valid? The contract would not need the wallet owner's name, document number, or address.
Aeredium says the attestation contains a tier, expiry, and cryptographic commitment. In the July 23 AMA, Albert also said Aeredium receives a cryptographic signature or attestation when a user's KYC result is green, while the submitted details are deleted on the user side of the flow. The reviewed page does not identify the deployed contract, supported chain, public signing keys, revocation method, or reproducible transaction evidence. Those details are needed before the attestation layer can be treated as independently verifiable production infrastructure.

How AerKYC fits into the Aeredium ecosystem
AERSeal establishes more than adjacency: it explicitly uses AERKYC in its account flow. The remaining boundary is cryptographic. The reviewed sources still do not document whether AERKey signs AerKYC evidence internally, whether AERLink calls it during settlement, or whether AER Police or Agent Control Center consumes its attestations.
